On a regular school day, Matt Craven teaches eighth-grade science at Beck Junior High School in Katy, Texas. On Thursday, May 18, however, he taught an unforgettable lesson in surprise wedding proposals.
That day, during a pep rally, Craven's girlfriend, Kendall Stiefel, a sixth-grade social studies teacher at the school, thought she was putting on a blindfold to participate in a pep rally obstacle course game. When she took it off at the end, however, she found Craven kneeling down on one knee.
He popped the question, and you don't need an answer key to know her response ...
Of course, she said yes — right before Craven pulled her into an adorable bear hug. "The moment is something I will never forget. I quickly looked around and saw my whole family and Matt's whole family right behind him," Stiefel told A Plus via email. "It was the most special day of my life and it was amazing to share it with our family, friends, and students,"
After the proposal, the couple took pictures together to commemorate the once-in-a-lifetime event. Stiefel's sister even made them custom shirts: "Luckiest Man Alive" for Craven, a perfect complement to "Yes he is!" for Stiefel.
And for readers interested in extra credit: What does cute proposal + cute response = ? Cuteness², of course.
