10-Year-Old Girl Brings A Texas Police Department To Tears

Appreciate your heroes.

In Austin, Texas, a 10-year-old girl took the time to thank her heroes at the police department.

Savannah Solis wrote hundreds of thank you cards to officers in both New York and Texas. In a YouTube video posted by KXAN Austin News, she reads:

"To my heroes: I want to say don't stop, please don't give up. Many do not care or appreciate the sacrifices that you make everyday, but I do."

"Officers all across America, you matter to me."

In the video, the young girl's mother told KXAN News her daughter always wanted to be a cop.

"She wants to get as many autographs as possible, because they're her heroes," says Solis' mother. "She doesn't look at celebrities [the same] as she does law enforcement."

Assistant Chief Jessica Robeldo at the Austin Police Department says she was so proud of Solis' gesture, and even noticed officers fighting back tears.

"That's what it's about... She knows the right thing to do, the right thing to say, and I don't even know if she realizes the impact of her words to these officers and to this department," Robeldo adds.
