People Rock One Sock To Create Awareness For Missing Kids

Most people thankfully have not experienced the pain of missing a lost child, but we can all empathize with those who have. To spread awareness, and raise funds to help those parents find their children, people are partaking in an important conversation about the topic.  

The National Center For Missing And Exploited Children (NCMEC) is making it easier for all people to be part of this dialogue by participating in the new viral phenomenon on National Missing Children's Day, May 25.

"During the month of May, we're asking everyone to wear one sock, take a 'footsie' (a picture or video of your feet with one sock) and post it to social media using the hashtag #RockOneSock," NCMEC wrote on the RockOneSock website.

According to the FBI, over 460,000 children went missing in 2015. NCMEC offers resources to help families cope and prevent these situations, and their RockOneSock social media campaign allows the organization to raise donations for their cause.
