The video for "B*tch Better Have My Money" is no joke. In it, Rihanna and her two accomplices kidnap, torture, drug, and hold an accountant's wife hostage because he stole from her, before murdering him in a bloody, scarily detached manner. There's also a lot of nudity involved. We'd like to think this is all just a fantasy, but maybe the singer is actually harboring some malevolent impulses. On the night of July 1, Rihanna kidnapped 100 fans and brought them to a "B*tch Better Have My Money" premiere. Only RiRi could have thought up an experience like this.
According to Rolling Stone, 100 Tidal subscribers in the LA area won the chance to attend some sort of Rihanna-themed event on July 1 — they weren't given many other details. When they arrived at the address they were given, they were all blindfolded and led onto a bus with blackout curtains. They had no idea where they were headed, but Tidal staffers made it fun by leading a Rihanna-themed trivia game during the ride. When fans gave a correct answer, the staffers flung money at them.
Finally, the bus arrived at the Bob Baker Marionette Theater in downtown LA. Everyone was seated, and they finally got to watch the "B*tch Better Have My Money" video for the very first time. Then, most excitingly of all, Rihanna herself stepped out and surprised them. Also, more money rained down from the ceiling for fans to grab.
At the reception after the show, the singer mingled with her guests and personally handed out even more cash to her adoring (also slightly freaked out) fans. Talk about art imitating life.
