The Internet Criticizes Reese's Peanut Butter Trees, But Then Reese's Drops The Most Witty Response

Stop tree shaming.

You might have heard about Starbuck's red cup controversy, but that's not the only holiday "mishap" people are talking about this year.

Reese's and its peanut butter trees are getting lots of attention.

You see, every year, the brand — known for its chocolate-covered peanut butter cups — releases holiday-themed editions of their signature goodies: pumpkin-shaped candies for Halloween, heart-shaped ones for Valentine's and tree-shaped ones for Christmas.

Except this time around, no one seemed impressed by the shape of Reese's trees. Quite the opposite, really.

So Reese's decided to address this public "shaming" by dropping the most brilliant response:

"REESES's celebrates trees of all shapes and sizes. It's not what it looks like, it's what it tastes like," they tweeted.

You got it. Tree shaming no more.

Well played, Reese's, well played.
