It turns out Tyrion isn't completely heartless after all. The youngest Lannister does have a soft spot … for children's charities, it turns out. Actor Peter Dinklage and Coldplay created a Red Nose Day commercial, reminding viewers to donate. We know what you're thinking, and believe us, we never expected to see that particular collaboration either. The results are even more surreal than you'd imagine. Who could have possibly predicted Tyrion would actually make a decent lounge act?
So what exactly is Red Nose Day? It's an event that was started in the U.K. by charity Comic Relief, and has now made its way stateside. On Thursday, May 21 (the official Red Nose Day), NBC will air a 3-hour concert/performance/celebration featuring Will Ferrell, Jennifer Aniston, Paul Rudd, Anna Kendrick, Christina Aguilera, and many other celebrities, to raise money for a variety of charities that support children and families, including the Boys and Girls Club, the National Urban League, Oxfam America, and others.
Half the money will be donated to organizations within the United States, and the other half will go to help causes in Africa, South America, and Asia.
So how can you join the "Game of Thrones" star and his backing band and support Red Nose Day? It's simple. Just head to the Red Nose Day charity's donation page, and pledge whatever you can. Then, after you donate, make sure all your friends are aware of the event, so they can donate too. There's just no reason not to pitch in, especially when Tyrion is asking so nicely.
You need to check out "Game of Thrones: the Musical":
Don't forget to donate to Red Nose Day, and share this page so others can support children in poverty.
And tune in to the festivities live on NBC on Thursday, May 21, at 8 p.m. ET.
