In Just 3 Minutes, The Myth Of Race Is Debunked
That was easy.
In today's world, the color of your skin can still have a serious impact on how you're treated.
People might point to victories like the election of a biracial president as evidence that we are now living in a "post-racial" society. But as most people of color will tell you, we still have a long way to go — even though all that distrust of and discrimination against members of other "races" is built on the shoddiest of foundations.
"The fact is that even though race drives a lot of social and political outcomes, race isn't real," Vox explains in the video above.
As the news site goes on to say, there is no such thing as a "race." It's not a biological reality, it's a social construct and, in some cases, a government tool.
Vox's video offers quite the fascinating take on the concept of race, and one that proposes a oneness with your fellow man we here at A+ can get behind.
