It's only human nature to want to improve things about ourselves, be it our lifestyle or our looks.
But for better or worse, when it comes to our appearance, various photo editing techniques sometimes seem to be the fastest (and easiest) way to get where we really want to be. Take Purikura as an example.
Purikura refers to Japanese photo booths that snaps heavily edited photos and prints an instant version of a perfect you on a sticker. Armed with heavy makeup, Canadian native Micaela Braithwaite decided to carry out an experiment to see how many of your flaws Purikura can really hide.

Meet Micaela Braithwaite.
She recently decided to experiment with Purikura, photo sticker booths that are crazy popular in Japan.
Yep, the ones that make you look maybe just a tad "too pretty."
So, first, Micaela takes a regular Purikura photo.
Whoa. That's quite a change.
But let's step up the game.
Micaela applies what she refers to as "clown makeup."
And she's ready for yet another photo.
In the new Purikura photo, her makeup looks absolutely perfect.
Now this is getting serious.
Sure, Purikura photos are heavily edited to enhance some features and hide others. Nevertheless, as Micaela explains, they are part of Japanese culture.
