Prince Ea knows you're scared. But in this powerful video, the rapper and activist asks that you get over your fear and start making your dreams come true.
There's a striking difference between this video and pretty much every other inspirational video of its kind: the message. So often viewers are encouraged to pursue their dreams because it will improve their lives. This video implores viewers to pursue their dreams because it will improve the world.
"Don't sit here and tell me that everything that can be done has been done," Prince Ea said. "Why can't we have cures for every disease known to man? Why can't we have clean water, food, education for every person on this planet? Why can't we have peace on this planet?"
In another video, "The World is Going to End — Which is Good," Prince Ea talks about the sad state of the world and charges his viewer with the responsibility to fix it. This video serves a similar purpose, but on a more personal, existential level.
"Where is the wealthiest place in the world?" Prince Ea asks. "It's the graveyard."
He continues by explaining that in the graveyard, you will find inventions never invented, businesses never erected, songs never sung, books never written, ideas never nurtured and people never realized because they were scared to take a risk. He looks into the camera, shrugs, and says that they were "scared like you."
"But," he points out, "you're not in a graveyard — yet."
Prince Ea's optimistic videos continue to inspire his viewers and, who knows, they might even foster that change needed to make the world a better place.
