Presidents can't please everybody, and President Obama is no different. The rise of social media has given his detractors even more opportunity to publicly air their grievances. He even gets blamed for everyday things he had nothing to do with. (Thanks, Obama!) But the president isn't about to let the haters get him down, as he proved by reading a few mean tweets about himself on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday night.
Even when people are calling him "the Nickelback of presidents," Obama just lets it roll off his back. And he isn't afraid to share the occasional comeback. When one Twitter user asks if he lifts, Obama replies without missing a beat, "Well, I lifted the ban on Cuban cigars. That's worth something."
And, of course, no collection of mean tweets about Obama would be complete without one from Donald Trump. Earlier this year, the Republican nominee tweeted, "President Obama will go down as perhaps the worst president in the history of the United States!"
"Well, @realDonaldTrump," Obama fires back, "at least I will go down as a president." And with that he drops the mic — or rather, the phone.
