When Los Angeles restaurateur Ivy Diep first spotted her dog Popeye, he was a dirty, extremely skinny stray. Diep wasn't looking to take in another dog, but she and her husband quickly fell in love with Popeye.
The rescue dog may have been starving when Diep found him, but she's made sure that he'll never be deprived of food or culture ever again. Popeye joins Diep for meals at snazzy brunch spots, beloved fast-food restaurants, and cozy coffee shops. From Indian to Italian to American, there's no shortage of cultures surrounding Popeye when it comes to food.
Diep has set up an Instagram account for Popeye, @popeyethefoodie, which showcases adorable pics of the pup at various restaurants. People love Popeye's photos so much that he has amassed more than 113,000 followers on Instagram to date.
"One of my friends, Jen, suggested that I create an Instagram account for Popeye because he was cute," Diep told Bored Panda. "Jen and I liked to go on what we call 'Instagram dates' and take pics of our food. I'd bring Popeye any time I can, and we realized he was really good around food. He doesn't lunge for food or really even care for it. He just liked to be out. He'll get nibbles of anything that's safe for him. I also carry a bag of treats for him, in case there's nothing he can have."
The best part of the photos may just be the outfits the social media star gets dressed up in. "I shop on Amazon quite often and when I run into cute dog outfits ... I can't help myself," Diep told ABC News. "He wears clothes pretty well."
