What Plus-Size Models Really Think About Their Bodies

What do plus-size models actually think about being called "plus-size?" What do they honestly think about their bodies and about the fashion industry?

In a beautiful video for Refinery29, uploaded to the publication's YouTube channel and entitled "Plus-Size Models Get Real About Their Profession," women discuss their modeling careers while giving powerful advice for women of any size.

"We look at the magazine, we look at TV, and it's just a whole bunch of 'non-reality.'"

"Believing 'I am going to be happy when I'm skinny' is a complete bullshit myth."

"Sometimes I'm embarrassed to add the 'plus' in front of 'model.' Like I'm second class to skinny models."

"Personally, for me, I love being called a 'plus-size' model."

"It's okay to be who you are. It's okay to have that extra skin."

"Once you start dreaming, and stop trying to be something you're not, and you start living, that's when life truly begins."

"I think that you look amazing. I think that I look great. I think that people should cut us a break, because there's nothing wrong with you and there's nothing wrong with me."

"You have to learn how to love yourself. Because we're never going to be perfect. Or, are we already perfect?"

Throughout the video, these women prove that by loving yourself and embracing your body, you too can feel beautiful.
