People Ages 0-100 Were Asked To Define Love. Their Responses Are Everything.

That 7 year old knows what's up.

"What is love?"

It's a simple enough question, really. It's the central theme of most of our lives, encompassing songs, poems, books, and movies. But defining it simply is harder than it looks.

YouTube channel SoulPancake asked this seemingly simple question to people varying in ages from 0-105, and the result was amazing.

When they first heard the question, some of the respondents laughed nervously.

But when the answers start coming in, there are some clear differences between the answers of the younger generation and the older crowd. However, it wasn't that the younger people were being too idealistic; they actually had a good handle on how this love thing actually works.

Take this 7 year old who responded: "If you're talking, like, marriage... I mean, you can be single. That's kinda what I want to do."

This 14-year-old totally nailed it when he said, "It's complicated. Love is a complicated thing."

It really is.

So what about those who are old enough to have a lot of experience with different kinds of love?

"Love, to me, is the greatest marketing campaign ever invented," said one 35-year-old. Ouch.

"It makes you do the things you never thought you could do, and I think it just makes life worth living."

"I'm married 55 years," and 80-year-old man stated. "Our job in life, the two of us, is to look after each other and see to it that we're our best selves, so to speak."

But there's still one more person we need to hear from.

Final word on the subject comes from the man with 105 years of experience with love.

"Love means a lot to me. It means a lot."
