This Artist Reimagined 'The Starry Night' With 15 Pop Culture References

These would make for some great wall art.

You may be familiar with Vincent van Gogh's famous "The Starry Night" painting, but one artist's new interpretations are giving us a whole new perspective on the piece.

In her "Starry Night" collection, painter Aja Trier inserts pop culture references (think Snoopy, The Lion King characters, and Pokémon) against the recognizable sky,

"Inspiration for the unique collection came from a lapse that was made by an education blog. It had erroneously shared Trier's painting of the Eiffel Tower and credited it as a piece by van Gogh," according to Design Taxi. "The painter made light of the error and asked herself, what else did van Gogh not see?"

Her series, available on Etsy, features Peanuts-inspired works such as "Van Gogh Never Saw Woodstock" and "Van Gogh Never Sat on the Dock of the Bay," among others.

There's also "Van Gogh Never Boldly Went," inspired by Star Trek.

You can find Trier's work below as well as on her website, Instagram, and Etsy pages.
