15 Things People Said In The '80s That Just Don't Stand The Test Of Time

"I'll have to look it up in the encyclopedia."

Ah, the 1980s. Back when people went to the movies to see E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, Return of the Jedi, and The Breakfast Club, or stayed home to catch The Cosby Show, Roseanne, and Married ... with Children on TV. Hair was big, fashion was bold, and people thought blond jokes were actually funny. MTV aired its first music video with the song "Video Killed The Radio Star" by The Buggles, and pagers were widely used.

Recently, Twitter users threw it back to the '80s and recalled what culture was like during the decade. They used the hashtag #80sMeWouldSay to detail the now-outdated conversations they'd have with people during a much simpler time. A lot of the things they shared just don't stand the test of time.

It kind of makes you wonder what things that are perfectly normal now will be completely outdated in 30 years from now. Will we be reading "remember Facebook?" listicles on something that doesn't exist yet while sitting in the back of a driverless car? Only time will tell.

But for now, reminisce about the 1980s by reading through the #80sMeWouldSay tweets below:
