Paul Feig's upcoming Ghostbusters reboot has taken a lot of heat from longtime fans who don't want their memories of the first (and to a lesser extent, second) film tarnished. To ease them into the new installment that features an all-female Ghostbusters team, Feig has been slipping details left and right, even though the film won't debut until next year. The latest is an image of the Ghostbusters' Ecto-1 Car, which Feig tweeted from his personal account.
The upcoming film stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones as the female ghost-busting counterparts to the original cast that featured Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson. Michael K. Williams, Matt Walsh and Andy Garcia will also be in the film, and Chris Hemsworth, Thor himself, will play the receptionist.
Feig has been pretty engaged with fans of the film, whether or not they've been supportive of his efforts thus far. He even tweeted back and forth with a small, unofficial "German Ghostbusters" account when it reached out to him about building the new proton pack the Ghostbusters in him film will wear.
Here's what else we know about the film so far:
Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon know their style.
Building a proton pack might be harder than you think.
Your car probably isn't as equipped for impending ghost attacks.
The new Ghostbusters hits theaters July 22, 2016.
