When the morning of June 1 dawned, most people probably thought they were waking up to a typical Monday: a little sleepy, maybe a let-down after the weekend, certainly not a major milestone of any kind. But then, the news broke. News that, depending on your perspective, is either jump-up-and-down exciting, or weep-for-humanity awful: Author EL James has announced the release of a new "Fifty Shades of Grey" book, this time from the perspective of the bad boy of BDSM himself, Christian Grey. The novel, which will serve as a companion to the "Fifty Shades" trilogy, will be released in just two and a half weeks, on June 18. It is, appropriately, titled "Grey."
James made the announcement via Instagram, writing "Hello all. For those of you who have asked, Christian's POV of #FSOG is published on 18th June for his birthday. It's called GREY... I hope you enjoy it. #FiftyShades #Grey." In a press release, James added that fans have begged (and pleaded, and cajoled, and demanded) her to write a novel from the point of view of her most famous character. All the previous "Fifty Shades" books have been told from the perspective of Anastasia Steele, the female half of the adventuresome couple whose romantic and sexual exploits have been documented throughout the series.
