A brilliantly produced video created entirely by midshipmen of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., made its way onto the internet last night, accumulating 32,000 views in the space of just a few hours.
The video, which was posted by YouTuber Nickle2E, and directed by Midshipman Rylan Tuohy, features an ever-increasing number of future Naval officers in dress whites on the strangely deserted streets of Annapolis, where they perform an original take on "Uptown Funk," this year's hit by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars. The music was produced by Midshipman Mark Clanton.
There's some really remarkable aerial footage of Downtown Annapolis here that had to have been shot with a drone cam, though the description notes a "$0 budget."
Their regional adaptation is entitled "Naptown Funk."
The video's description thanks the City of Annapolis and the Maryland Avenue and State Circle Association, which may explain the empty streets.
