Nasir "Nas" Jones is more than just a rapper, and for the youth of the world, breakdancing is more than just a hobby.
In "Shake The Dust," a new documentary produced by Nas, the dance culture of B-boys in slums around the world is explored. From Uganda to Colombia to Yemen, the film portrays breakdancing as something much greater than a free time activity to have some fun.
The wheels started spinning for the documentary when photographer and filmmaker Adam Sjöberg discovered a young child from Uganda breakdancing online. According to Sjöberg, the title of the film came from the one common denominator between the amazing videos of breakdancers he'd find: the visual of them kicking up dust while dancing in their neighborhoods.
