Trump as the 45th president of the United States has elicited concern in the Muslim American community, a frequent focus of the campaign's rhetoric, as many women publicly expressed concern for their safety while wearing a hijab in public. The anxiety stems from the seemingly Islamophobic policies that supporters of the president-elect considered central to his campaign platform.
