Hikers Caught In The Worst Possible Place During A Volcanic Eruption

Japan's Mt. Ontake erupted suddenly on Saturday, September 27th, sending a massive plume of smoke and ash hundreds of feet into the sky as terrified people ran for their lives down the popular hiking spot. At least 31 people have died with rescue efforts continuing at the time of this writing.

This fantastic video posted by Beep shows footage of the volcano shortly after it erupted. It was taken by hikers.
