Over the years, the Internet has come up with a multitude of reasons as to why we're all so addicted to cute animal videos (you know, besides them being super cute).
Making a case as to why we love watching animals make friends with other animals, particularly of different species, Business Insider explains, "irresistible inter-species friendships remind us not only of our power and influence in the natural world, but also of our ongoing need to pay attention to — and learn from — the non-human animals around us."
Moreover, the LA Times argues that watching such videos make us less lonely and more happy.
"Interacting with a pet can increase oxytocin, beta-endorphin and dopamine levels as well as reduce cortisol levels — powerful neurochemicals that can lower our blood pressure and make us feel happier, better and more relaxed," Rebecca A. Johnson of the Research Center for Human-Animal Interaction at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine, told the L.A. Times.
And then there comes a time when you find a video that's so perfectly precious, it needs no explanation...
Like, say, a monkey getting a bath.
The "why am I all wet?" look.
The most perfect wrapping job.
There's just nothing like it.
