Cheerleader's High School Sweetheart Serves In The Marines But Refused To Miss Her First Game

What an incredible couple.

Over the weekend, the St. Louis Rams hosted a game against the Indianapolis Colts and their stadium, the Edward Jones Dome.

But during a special "Soldier Salute," the Rams broadcasted a video on the big screen to the entire audience, celebrating their cheerleader Candace Valentine.

In the video, the announcer tells the crowd that Valentine is a 1st lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps, has a law degree, is finishing her Ph.D. in public policy, and also works as a law office associate — all while cheering for her team.

But then the announcer directed his attention directly at Valentine for a special surprise...

Valentine's husband, Marine Corps 1st Lt. August Valentine, had been stationed in South Korea, and "would never want to miss [her] first game," he said in a message playing on the screen.

"So, surprise!"

And what a beautiful surprise it was for the well-deserving military couple.

Valentine's husband had returned to St. Louis so that he could be at the game to surprise the unsuspecting cheerleader Saturday night. When he took to the field, Valentine rushed over to embrace him.
