Not everyone is totally comfortable in front of a camera, but with the right photographer, anyone can be the subject of a gorgeous picture.
For proof, just take a look at the work of Montreal-based photographer Mikaël Theimer. His photographs feature his camera-shy girlfriend, Marion.
"It all started with the picture of the red garage door," Theimer told A Plus.
"I asked Marion if she could pose next to the door, but she really didn't feel like it," he explained. "So I asked very nicely again until she finally stood next to the door. But as I hadn't specified how I wanted her to pose, she placed herself facing against the wall. I thought that was quite funny, so I didn't argue with her and took the picture."
Theimer then posted the photo on Facebook with the caption, "My girlfriend hates to pose for me," and the response was very positive. That was when he decided to turn the concept into an ongoing series.
"Nothing is staged or planned," he said.
"Sometimes the pictures are 100 percent spontaneous..."
"... and sometimes as we're walking around, I'll see a scene and ask her to pose in it."
"She then decides how she wants to pose."
The results are both funny and beautiful. Take a look below to see more images from Theimer's series, featuring Marion.
Oh, sweet love.
