Michael Phelps Recreates ‘8 Mile’ And Nails Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’ On ‘Lip Sync Battle’

One opportunity.

Michael Phelps might have recently retired from swimming competitively, but that doesn’t mean his life hasn’t been busy.

He's been brushing up on his rummy skills, hanging out with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West at the VMAs, and has also taken up the position of lead social media editor for his son, Boomer.

To add to that ongoing list, Phelps was recently a special guest on the all stars episode of Lip Sync Battle

He competed against the likes of Aly Raisman, Simone Biles, and Olivia Munn who performed Sia's "Cheap Thrills"; John Legend, who performed Outkast's "Hey Ya" with Stevie Wonder; and Terry Crews, who performed Public Enemy's "Fight the Power."

This wasn’t going to be easy.

For his performance, Phelps recreated Eminem's iconic look from 8 Mile to perform the Oscar-winning song, "Lose Yourself."

Just like the movie, Phelps begins his performance by psyching himself up in the mirror, hoodie and all.

We imagine Phelps envisioned this exact scene in his head as he warmed up for his Olympic races.

Once the beat kicked in, it was time to take advantage of his “one opportunity.”

Strapped up with his Timberlands, Phelps held nothing back as he made his way to the main stage. The crowd was completely into it as well, cheering on the gold medalist as he tore through the song.
