"Realize that you are both going to be totally disgusting at times."

If you've recently tied the knot, then you know there can never be too much marriage advice for newlyweds. As you and your spouse go forth into a new stage of your relationship, it is common to want some marital guidance. Marriage is a huge step, indeed. But perhaps the other huge step often underestimated is the whole living together as newlyweds thing.

Seeking advice for newlyweds moving in together can be hard to do because you probably have questions as an individual and questions as a couple on what living together will be like. Living with anyone  — roommates, family, friends, or a spouse — can be difficult and include loads of surprises (both pleasant and unpleasant). Newlyweds moving in together for the first time may find out new things about their partners.

The business of marriage advice and how to successfully cohabitate is forever thriving, and while some newlywed tips of today are more modern, there are still tried-and-true classics that withstand time. Apparently, the secret to a happy marriage is not perfect problem-free bliss (because life), but it's understanding and maintaining open communication in the relationship.

One Reddit user named ZeZee asked the internet community for advice on what to expect when moving in with your spouse. They wrote, "Hello ladies (and a few gents) I'm getting married in a few months and have always lived at home, sharing a room with my sister, I'll be living with someone other than my immediate family for the first time ever in my life in a state 10 hours away from my family. I'm excited, but I'm also FREAKING OUT. So, for any of you newlyweds or anyone that went through the 'moving in together' blues ... what is the number one piece of advice you would offer. What tips do you have, what are some dos, don'ts and what to expects can you share?"
