This is the first three rows of images that come up if you Google Mark Zuckerberg.
In nearly all of the photos, Zuckerberg is wearing a gray T-shirt. He wears the same style of gray T-shirt to work every day. It's become widely thought of as part of the 30-year-old's uniform.
So why does a billionaire who could afford to be painted in 24k gold leaf every morning always opt for the same outfit?
At a public Q & A session at Facebook's Menlo Park, California headquarters last November, he answered that very question.
It's because he wants to focus as much of his energy on Facebook's mission:
"I'm in this really lucky position where I get to wake up every day and help serve more than a billion people, right? And... I feel like I'm not doing my job if I spend any of my energy on things that are silly or frivolous about my life so that way I can dedicate all of my energy towards just building the best products and services and and helping us reach our goal and achieve this mission of helping to connect everyone in the world and giving them the ability to stay connected with the people that they love and care about... So that's what I care about. So even though it kind of sounds silly that that's my reason for wearing a green t-shirt everyday, it also is true."
That sounds pretty hardcore, but if you think about where he's coming from — that he wants to eliminate any and all extraneous concerns so that he can fully focus on his work — you can see how he's achieved the kind of success that he has.
What could you cut out of your life to free up more time and energy to focus on your goals?
