What This Hairdresser Did For Homeless People Will Restore Your Faith In Humanity
Kindness has no borders.
This is Mark. On the right sits his most memorable client, Jemar Banks, who is getting a haircut. One of the few in his whole life.
Mark Bustos is a well-paid professional hair stylist. But the reason why he made the headlines isn't his magic hands.
Bustos told his fascinating story in an interview with Huffington Post. It appears, as of May 2012, he's been cutting hair for homeless people all around New York.
Every Sunday, on his only day-off, Bustos and his girlfriend would roam the streets searching anyone in need of a little faith-boost.
They would approach people with a earnest phrase – I want to do something nice for you today.
While Mark cuts, his girlfriend asks what food the recipients would like to eat and buys it.
When the initial shock and suspicion goes away, Bustos' clients open up to him and tell heartbreaking stories of their lives.
Bustos admits his actions aren't going to make the problem go away.
Mark aspires for more people to be down for an unselfish good deed. As he told Today.com, all he wants is "to bring some positive energy and hope into this world."
