Photographer Shows What War Looks Like For Him In The Middle East

A new look an at ongoing war.

For many people, the conflict in the Middle East is a part of everyday life.

Regardless of what side you're on, that everyday life can become a living hell. For Mahmoud Alkurd, he tried to turn that hell into something beautiful. The Gaza-based artist has taken to reflecting his pain through magnificent pieces of surrealism.

HIs work takes an organic, new look at an ongoing tragedy that many people are trying to understand and stop.

And judging how his work has been received, he's doing a pretty good job...

These photos have been exhibited in dozens of cities around the world.

The Gaza-Israel conflict has been ongoing since 2006, and is a key part of the larger Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This time last year (between July 8th and August 27th), more than 2,100 Palestinians were killed in the Gaza strip, as well as 66 Israeli soldiers and seven civilians in Israel.
