One Parisian Pastry Shop Inspired This New Gorgeous Hair Trend

Just when you thought macarons couldn't get any better, they started inspiring an eye-catching hair trend.

The pastry-inspired hair color is making its way onto luscious locks all over Instagram.

Macaron hair is similar to the rainbow hair trend, but with much softer, muted colors. Lavender, baby pink, peach, soft blues, pale yellow, and mint green make up the look.

The trend is the brainchild of hair stylist Shelley Gregory who was inspired by Parisian macaron and pastry shop, Ladurée.

"I went there a few years ago and I remember loving the color palette," Gregory told Cosmopolitan. "Everything from the crown molding and the way they display the macarons — it sticks with you. It's kind of like Disneyland, where it's magic. I wanted that feeling when you look at this hair."

Gregory creates this look for clients by hand painting the pastel colors in various sections of their hair in layers.

"You see rainbow hair but it's too much," Gregory told Cosmopolitan. "I wanted it to be a toned-down rainbow. And something yummy-looking!"

Pair your macaron inspired hair with the glitter roots trend, and you'll be totally winning the style game.

Don't fret if you're not currently rocking long locks. This style looks absolutely gorgeous on short hair too.
