If you're lost trying to locate LGBT characters in major motion pictures, you're not alone. One study found that, out of the 4,610 speaking characters in the top films of 2014, only 19 were lesbian, gay, or bisexual. None were transgender, and nearly two-thirds were male.

"When LGBT moviegoers do finally find those characters they can relate to, it affirms that they're an important part of our shared society, and that they also have stories worth telling," GLAAD wrote in an open letter to Hollywood execs in 2015. "It shows them that you, as some of our culture's greatest storytellers, recognize that as well."

BuzzFeed just released a YouTube video recasting famous romantic movies with LGBT leads. The result is gorgeous and much more representative of the couples and love stories we're familiar with offscreen.

We'd watch these any day.

1. "Pretty Woman"

2. "Romeo + Juliet"

3. "Grease"

4. "Dirty Dancing"

5. "Titanic"

6. "The Great Gatsby"

7. "The Notebook"
