Two Lovers Mathematically Prove That Finding A Soulmate Is Almost Impossible

Math vs. fate.

Do you believe in soulmates?

What is the possibility of meeting one when you live in a city with 800,000 population?

A short film, Less Than One, by Arturo Perez shows a couple in a fight where the girl asks her boyfriend if he believes in soulmates. Mathematically exploring the chances of her finding the right guy, the answer turns out to be... there's less than one person to fit her match.

But can love be measured in numbers? The truth will warm your heart.

Currently, Less Than One is running for competition in the Project Greenlight documentary series, produced by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.

The film also has an accompanying website where anyone can calculate the possibility of finding their soulmate depending on the city they live in. We decided to run a few tests and here's what we got.

Let's say you're a 25-year-old woman living in NYC, interested in dating men. According to the website's algorithm, there's only 139 people who are right for you.
