The newest season of Saturday Night Live premiered over the weekend with host Margot Robbie. While Alec Baldwin's impression of Donald Trump got everyone talking in the cold open, there was another memorable sketch waiting at the end of the episode. It featured Leslie Jones in a spot-on parody of the acclaimed USA series Mr. Robot.
Jones went through a lot this summer, but she hasn't lost her sense of humor. After briefly walking away from Twitter over racist and sexist abuse, she took social media by storm with her enthusiastic Olympics commentary. It earned her an invitation to Rio de Janeiro, but not long after that she was the victim of hackers who posted personal information and nude photos to her website.
Jones addressed the situation at the Emmys last month, and in Saturday's sketch, she asked Mr. Robot hacker Elliot (played here by Pete Davidson) to help her find the person responsible. Darlene (Robbie) and Mr. Robot himself (Mikey Day) also make appearances, and don't worry, there's obviously a Ghostbusters reference.
The sketch even addresses the show's unconventional cinematography, with Jones moving Elliot to the center of the frame. "This just don't feel balanced," she tells him.
