Kordale and Kaleb Lewis are two dads like any other. They're devoted to each other and to their three kids. Their days are filled with love and laughs and early morning alarms so they can make breakfast together and help get their kids ready for school.
"Parents who can get up at 5:30 and do their daughters' hair, no matter who they are, that's a family," they explained in a video from Nikon that captures their super close dynamic.
But when they posted a photo to Instagram last year, it very quickly went viral.
The photo is a sweet snapshot of a loving family going about their daily routine, but it's not, as they'll be the first to point out, anything really out of the ordinary.
Which is one of the reasons why the hate-filled comments that appeared after it went viral were so shocking to them.
Although at first the couple didn't speak out publicly because of safety concerns, with the Nikon video they opened their home to us again and set the record straight about the photo and their family, once and and for all.
"We just want people to know, hey, we're normal, and you can't judge people on their normal, you really can't," the Lewises said in the video.
"Those kids have our heart," they continued later. "I can't sit here and explain to you in words why we feel the way we feel for our children, but those are our kids, and no one else can tell me anything different."
So there you have it. The truth about that viral photo that the commenters were after: Kordale and Kaleb are loving dads and dedicated partners and, apparently, really excellent hairstylists.
And there's nothing anyone can say that'll change that.
