Photographer Captures Kitchen Ingredients Suspended In Midair With Incredible Results

“The things that inhabit [the kitchen] get a life of their own."

Just like Matilda turned her living room into a zero-gravity dance party, one photographer's capturing real-life, floating ingredients through his photos from the kitchen.

Francesco Mattucci, the photographer recently featured on Instagram's own well-respected feed, captures everything from cherries and carrots to ice cream sundaes and garnished cocktails in his fascinating project, KitchenSuspension.

According to Instagram, the photographer cooked up his zero-gravity kitchen at his home in Modena, Italy.

"The things that inhabit [the kitchen] get a life of their own," Mattucci explains in the post.

Moreover, though "he is secretive about his post-production magic," Mattucci says this: "Every object that you see floating was captured in that exact spot."

Whatever he's doing, we're completely captivated — each shot is a magnificent, refreshing way to see everyday food and kitchen items in the most unlikely ways.
