There's Something Really Creepy About This Short Film Featuring Kirsten Dunst
Food for thought.
The film features Elizabethtown and Amazing Spiderman actress Kirsten Dunst starring as herself and takes a look at what fame means in a culture dominated by social media.
The moments where Ms. Dunst is accosted by the two selfie-seeking "fans" are unexpectedly uncomfortable: the tension and claustrophobia brought on by Frost"s tight framing are palpable, especially coupled with the awkwardly abrupt fans. Dunst quickly goes from being a person with concerns (lint, phone calls) to being a unit of social capital (a catalyst for "likes" on Instagram). It commands a rethinking of "celebrities."
