Just ten days ago, The Supreme Court of the United States ruled to legalize gay marriage. This landmark ruling means that now all couples, including same-sex ones, have a constitutional right to marry across all 50 states of the US.
To celebrate, we asked little kids and teens to read snippets of text from the Supreme Court's ruling and Justice Anthony Kennedy's opinion. The result is just absolutely beautiful. After all, these will be the words that appear in history books for future generations to read, reflect upon, and cherish.
"It would misunderstand these men and women to say they disrespect the idea of marriage. The plea is that they do respect it, respect it so deeply that they seek to find its fulfillment for themselves," the kids read.
From kids of today to kids of tomorrow. "It is so ordered."
