Model and reality TV star Kendall Jenner is one of the last people we would have expected to quit Instagram, but that's exactly what she did this week to the shock of her fans. On Wednesday, Kendall appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where she expressed surprise that deleting her account had become such a big news story.
Ellen asked Kendall why she made the decision, and her answer will probably strike a chord with anyone who spends a little too much time staring at their phone.
"I'm always on it," she said of the app. "I would wake up in the morning and I would look at it first thing. I would go to bed and it was the last thing I would look at. I felt a little too dependent on it, so I kind of wanted to take a minute. It's a detox. I'll be back."
She says she would suggest that other people try it, explaining what a positive impact it has had on her everyday life in only a few days: "I'm away from my phone so much more. You start to engage in real life, and you have to deal with real people right in front of you. So it's kind of really nice to be away from it."
Hear everything Kendall had to say in the video below, and maybe consider a digital detox of your own.
