'I don't need legs to feel sexy' — a statement you don't often hear in today's beauty and fashion industry. But this woman is willing to change that.
Meet Kanya Sesser, a 23-year-old legless model, athlete and motivational speaker based in Los Angeles.
Sesser was born in Thailand, but her biological parents abandoned her at birth. At 5, she was taken from an orphanage and moved to Portland, Ore., with her new family.
From an early age, Sesser wasn't going to let her disability define her. Such determination and confidence scored Kanya major modeling gigs when she was only 15 years old.
Kanya has worked with brands such as Nike, Billabong, Rip Curl Girls and has recently ventured into modeling lingerie.
Since the beginning of her career, this powerful woman has been doing what she can to agitate body positivity and inspire people to feel confident in their own skin.
'I'm different and that is sexy. I love showing people what beauty can look like. These images show my strength,' Sesser told Caters News.
In addition to modeling, Sesser is also a prominent athlete who doesn't let the absence of legs stop her from skating, snowboarding, surfing, racing ...
Sesser is currently training for the 2018 Winter Paralympics where she hopes to compete in the monoski competition.
With her life motto being 'no legs — no limits,' we're pretty sure we will hear a lot of inspiring things about this woman in the future.
