This Photographer Is Challenging The Way We Judge Women's Bodies

Unexpectedly unique.

Julia SH, a Los Angeles-based photographer from Sweden who frequently shoots nude models, uses her visual skills to challenge deeply held social expectations about women's bodies.

"The idea that our bodies only have aesthetic value insofar as they conform to a certain set of sexual standards is ridiculous and harmful," she wrote to A Plus of a portrait series she created featuring a plus size model.

"In the series, I tried to challenge this idea by portraying the model's body like a sculpture, which was an attempt to prevent the viewer from looking at the model in terms of their sexual preferences and shift their focus to the geometry and textures that make the model's body unique, fascinating and beautiful," she said.

Here are four paradigm-challenging, singularly crafted NSFW portraits that suggest that we are more than just society's sum of our parts.
