Julia Louis-Dreyfus Has Two Words For Cancer In Her First Post-Surgery Photo

"Hoorah!"

Julia Louis-Dreyfus celebrated Valentine's Day with a promising update on her breast cancer journey. On Wednesday, the Emmy-winning actress revealed that she had undergone surgery, and shared a fabulous post-op photo that had fans celebrating.

"Hoorah! Great doctors, great results, feeling happy and ready to rock after surgery," Louis-Dreyfus wrote to accompany the photo on Twitter and Instagram. "Hey cancer, 'Fuck you!' Here's my first post-op photo."

The post has received more than 18,000 retweets and over 218,000 likes as of this writing. Fans were clearly happy to hear the positive news.

Since announcing her breast cancer diagnosis last September, Louis-Dreyfus has been giving fans social media updates. She underwent her final day of chemotherapy last month, following a supportive video from her sons, Henry and Charlie, set to "Beat It" by Michael Jackson.

Many fans shared their excitement over this latest news by tweeting appropriate GIFs from Louis-Dreyfus' roles on Seinfeld and Veep. In one GIF from the HBO comedy, co-star Tony Hale tells her character Selina Meyer, "This country doesn't deserve you," to which she replies, "I know it."

Louis-Dreyfus also has an amazing support system in her Veep co-workers. As she underwent chemo, her co-stars Tony Hale, Timothy Simons, Sam Richardson, and Matt Walsh made motivational videos for her, which she shared on social media. It was revealed in November that production on the series' final season was being delayed while the actress received treatment. "She's a very strong person and we can't wait to welcome her back at full speed," executive producer Frank Rich said at the time.

As Louis-Dreyfus wrote on Instagram following her second round of chemo, quoting Katy Perry, "I've got the eye of the tiger. The Fighter dancing through the fire cuz I am a champion and you're going to hear me ROAR."
