Journalists Pay Tribute To Slain Virginia Reporters With Beautiful #WeStandWithWDBJ Tweets

In remembrance of Alison Parker and Adam Ward.

When news broke that a disgruntled employee of WDBJ news station in Virginia shot and killed his former co-workers while they were on the job, the nation was horrified. But those who work in broadcast television were especially rocked to the core.

To show their support for the station who lost two of their own, Alison Parker and Adam Ward, journalists in the industry from across the nation took to social media using the hashtag #WeStandWithWDBJ.

They were not afraid.

Other networks and stations joined in to show their solidarity and celebrate the work of those lost.

A few have also made their social platform avatars the TV stand-by symbol.

As KDVR reporter Mark Meredith put it:

"When news people say we're a family — were not exaggerating. Everyone who works in TV is mourning. WeStandWithWDBJ."

We stand behind them, too.
