A Man Named Burger Is Marrying A Woman Named King. And Yes, Burger King Is Paying For The Entire Shebang.

These people have really found their better halves.

Some things just go together, like peanut butter and jelly. Ketchup and mustard. Burger and King. Meet Joel Burger and Ashley King, an odds-defying couple from Illinois.

The two became overnight celebrities after local newspaper the State Journal-Register announced their plans to marry this summer.

According to the publication's article, Burger and King have known each other since kindergarten and dated through their college years.

But it was only last fall that the groom-to-be decided to pop the question. Obviously, she said yes.

The story traveled the Internet at lightspeed and it wasn't long until it reached Burger King itself.

A spokesperson for Burger King said the story "felt like fate," so the company decided to pay for the entire wedding.

"We knew deep in our hearts that we wanted to honor the union of Mr. Burger and Ms. King. In an unforgettable way. Everyone at Burger King Brand agreed and, as Dave Bakke said, we knew we wanted to create a 'whopper of a wedding' that's uniquely their own," Eric Hirschhorn, Burger King brand spokesman, said to the State Journal-Register.

The restaurant chain does just have one tiny request.

"All we ask in return is that they live happily ever after. And maybe name their first child Chicken Fry," Burger King told BuzzFeed.
