Joe Biden Isn't Sure If He'll Run For President, But He Tells Oprah He'll Continue To 'Holler'

"I’m going to do everything I can to change the dynamic here."

Former Vice President Joe Biden sat down with Oprah Winfrey for a new interview on her OWN series SuperSoul Sunday, and spoke about the possibility of running for president in 2020.

It's certainly not the first time an interviewer has asked about it, and as we've come to expect, he expressed uncertainty about the idea. To Winfrey's question of whether there has been "a thought or consideration" for running, Biden responded, "No. Not yet ... I'm a great respecter of fate. I don't plan on running." He added that he doesn't' know what will happen in two years.

While he may not be putting his hat in the ring for president, that doesn't mean you won't see Biden involved in politics anymore. He said he has been speaking politically "not ... nearly as often as I'm asked," because it's so often assumed he's going to run for president. "But I'm going to do everything I can to change the dynamic here," he shared.

For Biden, that means helping the Democrats win back the House and the Senate. "I promise you, I'm not doing anything to organize running, but I'm going to go out there and continue to do what I've done since I've been 26 years old: holler."

Biden is currently promoting his new book, Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose, in which he recalls his late son Beau Biden's battle with cancer, as well as his decision not to run for president in the 2016 election. The former VP has shared that his family, particularly Beau, had wanted him to run.

In the meantime, he's certainly been living up to his promise to "holler." In August, Biden penned a powerful op-ed for The Atlantic in which he responded to the hate on display in Charlottesville and encouraged Americans to fight bigotry.

"Joined together, we are more than 300 million strong," he wrote. "Joined together, we will win this battle for our soul. Because if there's one thing I know about the American people, it's this: When it has mattered most, they have never let this nation down."
