This is just what we needed on a Friday: fun new music.
A Plus brings you the exclusive premiere of the music video for "Take It Away" by songwriter, producer, and choreographer JLine, an artist whose music melds the sounds of electronic dance music (EDM) with pop-flavored melodies, along with "personal, self-written lyrics that explore all aspects of his musical personality."
The latter was recently made clear on the emotive track, "Over."
"Take It Away" pulsates with what's becoming JLine's trademark thump-and-break style that's sure to make viewers want to get up and dance. That was certainly true for the singer, and dancers Carrie Lee and Krystina Burton, who perform a continuous routine throughout the four-minute-long clip.
So many yesses!
And while the music is fun, JLine also uses his platform to to speak out on important topics — specifically through #istandwithjline, in which his concert performances for more than 1 million students nationwide came with a discussion about overcoming bullying.
"That experience taught me to believe in myself and find a passion in life," he says. "Songwriting and performing made me believe in myself again and taught me to never give up. Music saved my life and I hope my story can inspire other people"
He adds, "I know that when I was being bullied in school, I felt very isolated and alone. I wanted to let kids know now, who may be going through what I went through, that they are not alone and can use negative experiences in their life to inspire them to reach their highest potential and help others as well.
"I hope, after visiting their school that the students will support my #istandwithjline movement and use it to inspire themselves to stand up for what's right in their own life. To know they are worthy of respect and can overcome any obstacle that may come their way."
That's a mission we can all get behind.
