J.K. Rowling Makes Incredibly Smart Point About The Casting Of Hermione As A Black Woman

Dropping knowledge as always.

When the new play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" announced their casting choices, some were a little shocked.

That's because the London play will be featuring Hermione as a black woman, instead of a white woman as in the films.

Some quite didn't understand the choice at first, but then J.K. Rowling quickly took to Twitter to make an important point.

She never actually specified Hermione's race in the books.

Many others, such as writer Ashley C. Ford, were also proud of the casting decision.

Even rapper Mac Miller is envious of J.K. Rowling's continuous strong attitude.

We certainly aren't, but we'll try.
