Jimmy Fallon's #FootballRaps Hashtag Was Made Even More Creative Thanks To Twitter's 280 Characters

"We've been spending Thursday nights living in a football paradise."

It's still football season, and for Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon, that means sharing even more of his viewers' tweets with the hashtag #FootballRaps. Earlier this week, he asked Twitter followers to share funny raps about the sport, and on Thursday night, he asked The Roots' Tariq Trotter to perform them.

The difference between this week's Hashtags segment and others before it is that Twitter increased the number of available characters from 140 to 280. While some might find the extra space tedious, when it came to viewers' rap parodies, it only gave them more room to be creative.

Fans put a football-related spin on songs such as Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow," Chance the Rapper's "Angels," and Kanye West's "Gold Digger."

"As I run through the tackles on my right and my left / I take a look up ahead, and realize there's no one left," reads one new take on Coolio's "Gangsta's Paradise," which goes on to declare, "We've been spending Thursday night's living in a football paradise."
