Going on a first date can be scary for a lot of reasons: What do you wear? What do you talk about? And what should you order from the menu?
Lucky for us, the stars of My Blind Brother, Nick Kroll and Jenny Slate, recently sat down with BuzzFeed to answer the Internet's pressing first date questions. Of course, their answers don't come without a bit of humor and sarcasm, but hey, we could all use a good laugh these days too.
Question: Is using a cell phone on a first date inexcusable?
"I think if I was on a first date and a man was checking his phone at the table, I would think that he kind of doesn't, like, know what's up," Slate says.
"I think you want to have a phone handy so you can show the person you're with your prior convictions," Kroll adds.
Question: Do you start a first date with a hug or a handshake?
"I always like to hug," Slate says. "Unless you don't like them, then you should handshake and then they'll know this is over."
"I mean read the room," Kroll says, simply.
Question: What's the best excuse for bailing on a date?
"I'm so sorry! I'm having such a bad time," Slate says. At least it's honest, right?
Kroll's tactic? Just shake your head fervently and point to your nonexistent watch.

Remember — no matter what, the most important thing to do on a first (or second, or third) date is to be yourself. The rest will play itself out.
