"I came across a comment from someone I haven't seen on there before: a guy in his early 20s, who really, REALLY, loves gym selfies," Rushmore wrote in a blog post. "He'd found my post about designing my summer swimsuit for this year, hashtagged with #beachbodyready, and decided that the best thing to do was advise me that my body was disgusting to him and I should eat less cake."
She fired back with this Instagram of herself looking happy and gorgeous with the caption, "to the random jerk who fat shamed me this morning in a comment and suggest I eat less cake: as you can see from this pic my life is just a sad mess, so I'm glad you've helped steer my dietary choices, cheers! #effyourbeautystandards #CakeWithCashmerette"
Rushmore was already handling the body-shaming comment very well. "To be perfectly honest, I wasn't that surprised or upset: this is the kind of thing that happens every day to women like me," she says in her blog post. "But it sort of amused me, if for nothing other than the fact that I really, really love cake, and I really, really feel great in my swimsuits, so he was missing the mark in a few places."
But then, something beautiful happened.
The hashtag #CakeWithCashmerette began to spread on Instagram accompanied by other women sharing photos of themselves eating cake.
Rushmore then started reblogging the photos on her own Instagram.
The message is clear: these women will eat all the cake they want regardless of what a gym-selfie loving male thinks.
The troll got trolled right back.
