Pranksters Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox, of popular YouTube channel Smosh, were delighted to score an interview with Jennifer Lawrence while she was on tour promoting The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2.
Padilla and Hecox are best known for pranking celebrities during interviews and J-Law was about to be their next victim.
Or so they thought.
Through an earpiece, Padilla feeds Hecox terrible interview questions, embarrassingly bad jokes, and even instructs him to take off his shoes.
Lawrence is not amused.
"Are you high?" she asks him.
Finally, she's had enough. “I’m sorry, I feel like you’re not really a professional,” she says and walks off set.
What Padilla and Hecox didn't know was that Lawrence was pranking them right back with a little help from her co-stars, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, and Smosh superfan Dylan Miceli-Nelson.
That's right, the whole time Padilla was feeding Hecox instructions, Lawrence was receiving her own.
The stunt was part of the viral video sharing site Break.com's "Prank It FWD" campaign which uses pranks to raise money and awareness for good causes. For each 1,000 views and every share one of their prank videos get, Break.com donates $1 to DoSomething.org.
This video was meant to raise awareness for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a disorder Miceli-Nelson suffers from.
In the end, Lawrence and Hecox laughed and hugged it out. The pranksters got pranked good.
